Updated Opening Dates Announced for North Central Kansas Medical Center

Published Oct. 25, 2022

The date for seeing patients at the new North Central Kansas Medical Center has been pushed back to November 16th due to continued complications from workforce shortages and supply chain issues.

“Ultimately this decision comes down to the timelines of our cabinets and countertops being completed and in place,” said Dave Garnas, Administrator. “Staff shortages are haunting every industry; not just healthcare. Without cabinets and countertops, we cannot consider the project complete.”

The hospital will now facilitate its moving week on Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15. “We appreciate our volunteers as they have maneuvered these date changes with us,” said Garnas. “If these new moving dates allow anyone new to help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Ashley Hutchinson at 785-243-8710 or ahutchins@srhc.com.”

The hospital will still host its ribbon cutting and community open house on Friday, October 28th. “We hope everyone can join us from 1pm-3pm for our ribbon-cutting and tours,” said Garnas. “The public might see a countertop or two missing, but overall, I’m hoping they will see a building they are proud of.”
